Melaka Trial Paper Directed Writing

I would like to wish a very good morning to our principal, respected teachers and fellow students. As the School Counsellor, I am truly honoured for this opportunity to present a speech to you this morning. The title of my speech is “Safety measures in school, at home and on the road”.
Dear friends, there are several safety measure which have been implemented in our school. These safety measures include the visitors sign-in procedure at the main entrance of the school. Apart from this, there are laboratory rules which every student must adhere to. Fire drills must be taken seriously as the drills are conducted for everyone’s safety. The supervision of students during outdoor activities is also strictly enforced for the safety of all the students.
Due to the presence of many potential risks at home, it is our responsibility to keep away harmful products such as medication, sharp objects and flammable substances out of the reach of children. It is a good idea to place a fire extinguisher in the kitchen in case of fire. We must ensure that the bathroom floor is clean and dry in order to prevent infections and accidents. It is highly recommended that everyone keep a first aid kit in their homes.
While we are on the road, there are certain safety measures which must be observed. We must always use a helmet when we are riding a motorcycle. If we are in a car, we must always put on the safety belt, even if we are sitting at the back. Drivers must avoid speeding and they must always follow the traffic rules.
To conclude, there are certain safety measures which we must observe when we are in school, at home and on the road. While it is impossible to prevent all accidents, it is our responsibility to minimise their occurrence. I hope that everyone has learned something useful from this speech. Thank you.
