Dear Sir
A Most Unpleasant Dining Experience

On Mothers’ Day, my family and I patronized your establishment. While I was assured of excellent service during the reservation of a table for ten, the food and service of the evening turned out to be nothing short of a disappointment.

2.            Firstly, the food was not as advertised in the flyers. Moreover, it was poorly cooked and insipid. The presentation was also nothing to write home about.

3.            Secondly, the service was extremely poor. The waitresses who served us were haughty and rude. To top it off, they were slow and careless while serving us.

4.            Thirdly, the condition of your restaurant was deplorable. The glasses were stained with mysterious smudges while some of the plates were chipped. The elders in my family, including my mother, almost slipped on the greasy floor which were scattered with litter. It also did not help that there was an inordinate number of flies trying to settle on our food while we were eating.

5.            Fourthly, the customers were noisy and rowdy. Although we understood that yours was a non-smoking establishment, we were appalled to see some customers lighting up while we were eating. What made it worse was the fact that none of your staff made an effort to stop them from smoking.

6.            Fifthly, we were overcharged. The price of the Mothers’ Day dinner was RM30 per person as stated in your promotional flyer. However, we were told that it was RM 45 per person instead when the bill came.

7.            Lastly, the kitchen was untidy in its appearance, to say the least. As I was making my way towards the washroom, I noticed that there were kitchen helpers with uncovered hair. In fact, the only kitchen staff who wore a hat was the chef, but even then, his apron was stained with dark blotches.

8.            Without a doubt, your establishment offered the worst dining experience for the ten of us. It is hoped that you, as the manager, will take the appropriate action to rectify the shortcomings which I have listed above.

Thank you.

Yours truly
