For today’s college students, Facebook has provided several
benefits to concern themselves with politics, philosophy, art and other serious
matters. It is also an amazing social networking tool that helps students to
communicate among themselves and with
their professors. In addition, homesick students can stay in touch with family,
friends and loved ones. Students can also get involved with political
organizations and groups as well as use Facebook as a resource when looking for
a job. However, Facebook can be a source of distraction for students and may
lead to procrastination and eventually, a decline in academic performance.
Students may also become too dependent on Facebook for social interaction which
can negatively affect their social communication skills and the value of relationships.
